In general, all types of dance have the capacity to generate well-being in people, both physically and psychically. But tango has certain characteristics that make it special and unique!

WHY DANCE TANGO?

Tango is the best therapy for your body and soul! According to various studies, dancing tango will bring you physical, mental and emotional benefits even more than other types of dance or exercise.

  1. It improves movement coordination and balance.
  2. It favors good posture and reduces spinal problems.
  3. It maintains and improves muscle strength, flexibility and endurance, which help keep the body injury-free.
  4. Decreases and improves the distribution of body fat lowering the levels of total cholesterol in the blood.
  5. Practicing it regularly increases aerobic capacity up to 20%, which is equivalent to a functional return of more than 10 years.
  6. It encourages learning, memory and creativity as it improves mental alertness and the ability to multitask at the same time. A study by the University of Washington showed that dancing tango turned out to be better than other exercises to improve movement capacity in Parkinson’s patients, to prevent diseases like Alzheimer’s and senile dementia. It is also a great therapeutic complement to help treat various illnesses, such as hypertension and depression.
  7. It reduces stress and improves mood as it stimulates the production of endorphins (stress-fighting hormones); improves physical performance and increases energy levels.
