“ATUSA” (Argentine Tango USA) Official USA Tango Championship & Festival is a magnificent national double tango event which includes a Tango Festival (with workshops, milongas, master shows and live music) and the Official USA Argentine Tango Championship.
ATUSA – organized, directed and produced by tango master Andrea Monti since its foundation in 2011 – is the ONLY sanctioned OFFICIAL PRELIMINARY in THE UNITED STATES of TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL & DANCE WORLD CUP (the “MUNDIAL de TANGO” , – organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the City Of Buenos Aires, the highest authority for Argentine Tango).
ABOUT THE USA OFFICIAL TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP
ATUSA represents TANGO BUENOS AIRES FESTIVAL & DANCE WORLD CUP in the US, offering all competing couples the opportunity to shine in high level competition in front of an Official Jury Panel* formed by professionals of international renown and vast experience approved by the Tango BA Dance World Cup and the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires.
The Championship includes 7 categories: Tango De Pista (official), Stage tango (official), Milonga, Vals, Salon Senior, “So you think you can Tango?”and Stage Group.
Couples competing in official Tango de Pista and in the Stage Tango categories will have the possibility to win the official champion titles and will represent the US directly at the SEMIFINAL ROUNDS of the Tango Buenos Aires Dance World Cup in August.
No other competition, championship or festival in the USA other than ATUSA is official, validated and ruled by the two highest official bodies in the world: Tango Buenos Aires Festival and Dance World Cup and the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires.
